I have combination skin and found this gave me the right amount of moisture - my skin felt nice and comfortable not tight or oily and no residue feeling! I love Shiseido products and also purchased the softener in the normal/dry skin to use with it right after seeing how well the moisturizer worked on me. As for lightening effects I haven't been using it enough to tell - but will update if I can. It makes my skin feel awesome :) Will get serum & cleanser next!!
